Recognizing former Calvin Knights who have served God, church and community with Christian character, shaped in part by participation in the athletics program at Calvin.
Presented annually by the Calvin C Club of the Calvin University Alumni Association, this award has been established to demonstrate the lifelong benefit of intercollegiate athletics at Calvin as demonstrated in the lives and witness of former student-athletes.
Current recipient
Chris Holstege ’88, professor of emergency medicine and pediatrics at the University of Virginia, and internationally known toxicologist, thinks there’s a misperception about track and field teams.

Gretchen Toxopeus Pyles '91 is named 2016 Knight of Distinction, an award that recognizes a former Knight who has served God, church and community with the Christian character that was partly shaped by participation in the Calvin athletic program.
