Participation in a research study offers benefits to both the participant and the community at large.
Participants Needed
We often have research studies that are looking for volunteers. Both healthy volunteers and participants with specific health conditions are needed to help answer important questions which impact the health of our friends and family and the future of speech-language pathology and audiology. Current Studies
Strength & Mobility in Swallowing
Are you interested in participating in a research study that examines the strength and mobility of the tongue and jaw and their role in swallowing? You may be qualified to participate in this study if:
- You are either 18 to 40 years, 41 to 60 years, or 61-80 years old
- You have had no difficulty swallowing food and/or liquids
- You have had no neurological, head and neck impairments or injury
- You have no gastrointestinal disorders that affect your swallowing
- You are not undergoing treatments or taking medication that affect swallowing function
Participation in this study will be completed in one session that will extend for approximately 1.5 hours.
